An inside source tells me that there was indeed a Green Heron nest in Green-Wood this season.
Behold a juvenile; there are at least two. 
This one caught two fish as it walked around the edge of the pond towards me.
These pics are from earlier this month. They will fly south any… minute now. After spotting none last Saturday, I thought they might have all left, but then I saw one Sunday.
Terrific photos. The green herons left our area about 6 weeks ago😞
Young ones may be confused about the whole flying south thing here. Very mild weather, although I suppose they use day-length…

Thanks. I just stood there, waited as the bird approached along edge of water, got within 8 feet before it flew off to another quadrant of the pond.
