  1. What kind of tree was that warty old stump? Any idea?

    1. Don’t know. It’s in the cemetery, where the big ones are usually Tuliptrees, beeches, and oaks.

  2. My cousin-the-fungus-specialist, to whom I forwarded the email, pointed out that the two bottom pictures show one fungus attacking another fungus.

    1. Wow! I had no idea. Thanks for this info. It was quite beautiful looking, the reddish atop the very fleshy larger ‘shrooms.
