New Year’s Ravens

Corvus coraxTwo Common Ravens (Corvus corax) were hanging around Sunset Park’s coast yesterday.Corvus coraxI first spotted one from a distance while I was in the new Bush Terminal Park. I followed 1st Avenue to its end at 39th St. to see if I could get a better view.
Corvus coraxDid I ever! Turned out to be pair, and they hung out for a long time on the cliff-like side of the warehouse at the west terminus of 39th St. There was a lot of grooming.
Corvus coraxI’ll post more pictures soon.
