    George Browne mausoleum designed by Richard Upjohn! I noticed the nest when I gave a tour in Green-Wood last Saturday. One of the first mausoleums built in Green-Wood. The bird has good taste!

        This mausoleum is featured in Nehemiah Cleaveland’s 1847 book “Green-Wood” illustrated. It was a stop on the tour of Green-Wood way back then. There is an engraving of the mausoleum in the book. Geo. Browne was the proprietor of an Oyster House.
