The Avant-garde

Killdeer have returned.
I saw a trio of them at Bush Terminal on Friday. Heard them, too.
If you can make it here, you can make it anywhere…
They have nested around Bush Terminal in past years. Seems so unlikely, given all the feral cats and unleashed dogs.

    Perhaps it is better to be in a place known to be populated by assasins than to relax your guard in a safer place. While there are places safer than others, there is no risk free location. Kildeer are pretty good at camouflage and deception. In that way they are probably smarter than their predators.
