The Juneberries (Amelanchier sp.) are nearly ripe, and that means the birds are starting to devour them.
A Northern Mockingbird (Mimus polyglottos)
Cedar Waxwings (Bombycilla cedrorum). Unexpected. Later I found four in a tree on the mezzanine that is Squib Park. Here’s one of these crested beauties:

Was surprised to hear a bunch of cedar waxwings working the trees of Prospect Heights while visiting recently. Are they usually found in the streets of Brooklyn in the summer?

They seem to be very transitory. They do have a history of breeding in the city, though.
