Inside the Magnolias

My new sunglasses make it difficult to see the screen on my camera. So I didn’t realize these were in monochrome until afterwards.These blossoms at Pier 6 and Atlantic Avenue were already on their way out. Brief is the bloom of the magnolias.Another tree with the color back on:

  1. Amazing structure to the heart of a flower; all those pistols and stamens, pollen and nectar. Magnolias – are they of the heavenly perfume, chanel no 5?

    1. Golly, I don’t know if I’ve ever had the pleasure of smelling the famous No 5, unless you count the 5 train on early Sunday morning, which I’m sure you don’t. But these magnolias sure smell heavenly…
