Nesting

Quite a bit of garbage going into this Robin’s nest. Maybe too much? Six days later I walked by again and saw no further evidence of construction.

Here’s a more traditional nest, very grassy.

We can’t see the mud lining.

    Nesting is such an amazing activity of birds. Thanks for documenting this! The only way I get a close look is if one is in a bush or falls to the ground, unless it is for a ground-nesting bird.

    A robin is nesting on a downspout outside my bedroom window. Quite a messy nest. Debris constantly falling into the garden below.

    Robin nests in Central Park look messier and like there is more garbage used to build them this year. It probably has more to do with what people are leaqving than what robins prefer,
