Awesome photos! Great to see bees up close… I will show your photos to my granddaughter.
She is wary of bees and this may help her distance herself without being so afraid of them.-
If it’s any consolation, most of the bees portrayed here rarely sting. Ground-nesting bees are fairly harmless. Half of ALL bees can’t sting: they’re male and don’t have stingers. Most bee stings are from Western Honeybees, social insects dedicated to protecting the collective hive; they’re are unusual in this. Many “bee stings” meanwhile, are actually wasp stings. But again, the vast majority of wasps are quite harmless. It’s only the social wasps who are aggressive in protecting the collective/colony.
