    Have you ever eaten the seeds of a pine cone? (I have not.) I’m not sure if there is a given variety that is edible, but I understand it’s done.

      I’ve eaten commercially available pine nuts, delicious but pricey, but haven’t tried anything in the wild. Most pine species nuts seem to be edible, but many are too small to bother with (commercially speaking).
