New Gall

Most gall wasps force growth on oak leaves, but Callirhytis glandulus does it to acorns.
This is the same White Oak (Q. alba) acorn, just the other side where the little wasp home hasn’t fallen out yet.

PSA: Both of my Green-Wood members’ walks have sold out. If you’re in NYC, let Green-Wood know you’d like to see more insect walks there! We can be back next spring and summer, this time as part of the regular program, open to all comers.
