Campari Wasps Again

Photographing a small potter wasp on a wind-blown goldenrod is a challenge.
But getting all the Eumenes mediterraneus down on INaturalist is a good thing. This European species somehow made it over the Atlantic fairly recently. I don’t see these in great numbers — one or two a day is usual–so far. Two years ago, I sent one of these to a wasp specialist in Canada to help cement the ID. Here’s that story.
