Raptor Wednesday

The Sylvan Water Red-tailed Hawk had a single nestling who is out and about now, usually announced by a great deal of plaintive calling. I caught up with the bird the other day in a linden tree as Robins and Cardinals and others yelled unceasingly.
A foray to the nearby slope, where the bird beaked around. Is this edible?
The blue-green cere, the flesh that surrounds the nostrils, will get yellowish with age.
