I just notice the trailing edges of moth wings are variously fringed and/or toothed. I don’t se this in butterflies. Is this a defining difference between moths and butterflies?
I don’t know. Antennae the primary method: club-like ends for butterflies, various other forms for moths. Moth people just call butterflies day-flying moths.
