Raptor Wednesday

A late Osprey, seen passing over Green-Wood Cemetery on November 3rd. These big birds should be long gone south by now — birds who nest in Jamaica Bay have been tracked to Colombia and back — but look at that throat. Looks like trouble.

    Can you help me identify this snake encountered on a walk last night in Palm Coast, FL? Wish picture of his head was better, but he was very large, and we did not want to risk provoking him.

      Hi, this system doesn’t allow for attachments so I can’t see the picture. If you’re on Twitter, @AlongsideWild is a great source for ID snakes. I’m afraid I’m not familiar with FL’s wonderful reptile variety.
