Nesting Already

Starling: a cavity nester.
But not so spartan.
This is pure bling, though. The attached flat balloon may present some logistical problems.
Another American Robin nest. Sometimes they nest right in front of you, tbut his one was rather high up a tree.
This one was on the ground, presumably blown out of the pine above. Looks like a double-decker, a newer nest built atop an old one.
Minimalist Mourning Doves.
Nest? Who needs a nest? Male Brown-headed Cowbird.
Female Brown-headed Cowbird, with a juicy beetle.
While we’re on the subject of eating, this Common Grackle has rustled up what looks like a caterpillar from the leaves.

The nest on the ground looks like an Andy Goldsworthy art piece.
The robin is going to a birthday party!

The 1924 silver dollar, my go-to size comparison because it’s 1.5″ in diameter, is worth about $25, so a good start for a party.
