Recent Birds

So you got twice your recommended daily natural supplement yesterday because I accidentally scheduled two posts for the same time. Guess I’m going to pile on this morning…This foot looks like it may be infected.
Tiny piece of wet grass on a tiny bill.
Hunting so intently didn’t mind me sitting nearby.
Tombstones are closer to the leaping insects than branches.
Yellow-crowned Yellow-rump.
A rare appearance of the ruby crown.

Remember that Eumenes wasp I posted about recently? I mailed the specimen I captured to Matthias Buck at the Royal Alberta Museum in Edmonton on the 13th. He received the package and confirmed that it’s a Eumenes mediterraneus female.

    I love your blog and I especially love your bird pictures and commentary. As one who is trying to learn more about birds, and their names, could you possibly identify all the birds in the pictures you post? It would be very much appreciated by this wannabe naturalist.

      From the top, Golden-crowned Kinglet; Yellow-rumped Warbler; Tufted Titmouse x2; Eastern Phoebe; Yellow-rumped Warbler again; Ruby-crowned Kinglet.
