A herd of about fifty were ambling across one of the Green-Wood roads; when there are that many, and they’re relatively used to people, it does feel like a herd, of small long-necked and somewhat lumbering dinosaurs. Who hiss.

I’ve had to pick Canadian geese and Swans up and put them in the water tank for a swim at the Wild Bird Fund also swans . Some of them are fiercer than others and all of them are heavy . We have a Virgina Rail recovering from an ingury this week. I’m hoping he or she will recover.

I imagine Mute Swans weigh a ton; I see they can get up to 22 lbs which is insane for a bird. Probably why you can hear those wings working when they fly.
