Male Gadwell (Anas strepera).
Female Red-breasted Merganser (Mergus serrator).
The design on the funnel of the Loujaine, an old freighter now used for storage.
I arrived at the Erie Basin just as a water taxi disgorged consumers for the Swedish-themed flimsy-furniture store. These two goats in harness followed the crowd of bipeds towards the entrance.
They hadn’t arrive by boat, but rather wandered off a near-by lot, where they may be the equivalent of junk-yard dogs. The rogues were rounded up by the police, evidently not mutinous when it comes to scofflaws of the Caprinae family, and returned to their keepers, who walked them home.

I love the story about the goats on the lam!

The goats were out again this past Saturday morning, nibbling on rose hips in Erie Basin park.

I’m thinking it happens a lot. They seem like real people-goats, too.
