I was a little surprised there were no eggs here, since the green suggests it’s a fresh nest. Those green pieces do give it a homey touch.
Robins incorporate mud into their nest, as well as found things like scraps of plastic, which, unfortunately, the park does not lack.
Maybe they’re still building it?
Could very well be. It’s a really bad location, right on a path in the park, and within evil primate hands, so perhaps it was abandoned. On the other hand, robins can have more than one clutch a season, or this is just a late-starting couple.
