Ducks
Four Hooded Merganser and a pair of Buffleheads on Sylvan Water recently. Not-Mallards are pretty skittish, but this one was forced closer to the shore because of ice. Taking off to other end of pond, had enough of humans. Northern Shoveler at an inaccessible part of the Brooklyn shoreline.

A New Xmas Tradition!
On am unusually warm December day, I ran into an Eastern Red Bat in the sun. They will rouse themselves and fly on such warm winter days. Notably, there were a good number of flies out, and ladybugs.
