From far off, I thought this American Crow might have an egg, which seemed off for December.
Now it looks like something else entirely, but what?

Looks sort of felted. Possibly a large moth pupa in the luna/polyphemus genre?

Ooo, that’s definitely a possibility around here.

I thought of it because I have one I found a while back, and that’s what folks on iNaturalists said it was, and it has that sort of surface texture.
