November Insects

Not counting the various bees, flies, dragonflies, and butterflies I already blogged about last month, here are some of the insects I noted in Brooklyn. Above: November 5th: Pimpla pedalis.

November 9th: Chinese Mantis/Tenodera sinensis

November 9th: leafhopper

November 11th: Tephritis pura

November 14th: Neogerris hesione

November 16th: Lasioglossum

November 17th: False Milkweed Bug/Lygaeus turcicus

November 18th: a different leafhopper

November 19th: Asian Lady Beetle/Harmonia axyridis (this one was seen in the Bronx)

November 20th: Slender Meadow Katydid/Conocephalus fasciatus

November 20th: some kind of dung fly

November 26th: Dark fungus gnat/Sciaridae family

November 26th: Green Cutworm Moth/Anicla infecta

November 29th: Asian Ladybug/Harmonia axyridis. Was not moving on a wall in temps in the mid 30s F.
