Raptor Wednesday

How different a mature Cooper’s Hawk is from a youngster.
Two views of a youngster. Splotchy brown back, vertical streaks in front. The yellow eyes will turn orange and even reddish with age.
Age also brings a blue-gray back and russet to the bird’s front.
Starlings running interference. Pigeons do this, too, when a Coop is on the prowl.
