I am always impressed with the complete acceptance of a new and different reality most animals achieve upon receiving an injury or, as in this case, losing an important body part. It would seem stereo vision would be crucial for flight as well as in finding and capturing mobile food. Yet, this one-eyed kinglet seems unaware of the loss of his eye. He behaves exactly like the other kinglets and is treated as complete and of equal value by his congeners. We humans have much to learn.
