Your last picture, of the 4-fingered hand reaching skyward, led me to ponder whether this may have represented a possible ancestor (or possibly just an offshoot) of birds, since all that I knew about have 4 digits. A little research, however, proved my knowledge incorrect, since some birds have three, and some have 2 digits. That still, of course, leaves the possibility that the statue follows the more common digitalization of the Avian class.

    1. The 5th finger here migrated to the shoulder to be the basis of the wings.
