    1. Thanks! Looking them up I see they’re known for having high tolerance for variable salinity, low oxygen, and polluted waters.

  2. Yes, a real workhorse of the aqueous Anthropocene.

    I also saw some recently in the DEP outflows which empty into the William T. Davis Wildlife Refuge, along with pumpkinseed sunfish.

    Very abundant in Jamaica Bay and the Fresh Kills complex. Whether they are more or less abundant than they were pre-Anthropocene is I believe being investigated.

    1. So they’re be the only fish to survive us, eh?
