    Funny how big the difference between New York and where I live is… here the temperature this morning is around zero and we got enough fresh snow dumped on us last night that I’m hesitating to try to drive to the grocery store.

    My paperwhite narcissus have also just sprung into action – a tiny bit of green a couple of days ago, 3 inches of growth overnight!

    While surveying the extensive damage from last June’s derecho, trees down our creek bank, I saw a blue vinca blossom peeping out from under the leaves. And my crocuses (croci?) are up, about two inches of green.
